The Spirit of Socorro

Take a thirty hour boat ride from Cabo San Lucas into the Pacific Ocean and you’ll find the masters of the sea, Manta Rays. These gentle giants grow up to 29ft. wide and actually seek out human interaction. In a silent moment they glide towards you, and suddenly time stands still. You feel oddly safe, and very quickly you know you’ve found something beautiful.

The Wild West

Welcome to the west where the ground both boils and freezes. These Bison were once nearly driven to total extension. While they continue to grow in numbers they only have a few places they can call home. While photographing these wandering nomads I witnessed how calm and peaceful they can be in one moment, and the sheer power of a herd of charging across the planes the plains in the next. As the largest mammal in North America, they earned their title “The Mighty Buffalo”.

Chasing light: orange and blue chronicles

It takes thousands of years for Mother Nature to paint her canvas. Through stone, water, fire, and air the elements combine to create moments like these where we can’t help but stop and stare. Often when we stumble across these masterpieces we give a soft smile and close off everything else around us just so we can take it all in. I invite you to do so now…

Ignite the black and white

Forget the color, forget the noise, and forget ….. Within the light and shadows of a black and white scene lies something truly timeless. By taking color out of these photos I wanted to make the viewer envision something both elegant and powerful. Quiet as the black waters of the deep seas, and loud as the gladiators fighting for glory, these pieces are full of both mystery and enlightenment.
